I learnt something yesterday.

Art is ... creepy.

R I and me went to the er .. arts Bienxxxx thing.. (I don't know how to spell that kind of non words) @ the old Supreme Court. (Not before having a really nice lunch at Sushi Tei *cough cough* .. yum)

The haze was damn bad then.

Well we finally reached the Courts and, 5$ lighter (for me), we all went in. The first exhibit we went to was inside this big, nice darkened hall. Nice cold aircon .... The moment we stepped in, we were assailed with the sound of a plane engine. On both sides of the room were huge screens .. each showing an aircraft's wing (like when you take a flight and look out of your window). Clouds float serenely by .. all nicely computer generated.

It's a little dark .. you know, the darkened room bit.


It's all nice and impressive (the sound and especially the nice aircon) .. Only problem is ....... What's the point? It's called "Departure" .. well .. I see a plane wing .... I see 2 plane wings ..... .. mm .erm .......and..?

You're telling me someone is paying $XX / hour, powering the aircon, the sound, the projectors ... for this.

So anyways we muve around the place, looking at .. things .. Some of the pieces are really creepy. Here's one which was abit doh! When we first saw it.


That's ... art? mmm well .. *cough cough* Belljars with Chucky? mmmm I guess the wood panelling looks kind of nice.

We came across another piece of crappy creepy art too .. It was inside a courtroom, with a bunch of laptops placed randomly on the bench like tables. However instead of the keyboard being at the base .. they were all flipped so that their lcds were the base. And each lcd showed a grainy picture of those dead dudes on those tombstones. Soft gramophone music playing in the background .. that type of 如果没有你。。。日子这么过 type of music. That .. is downright creepy.

Yet another creepy one .. we enter a room .. it's all empty, save for a table with flags in front (like those UN meetings), and there was this sound of laughter .... loud uproarish laughter ........... Frankly, if I were to enter an empty room and hear loud laughter like that ... I'm going to label it as creepy. We did have some fun there though, sitting on the chairs pretending to be the delegates.

Some pieces of art made some sense though .. there was this series of pictures with this dude holding the bible .. And one of them showed him with a Jesus puppet. I (not me!) was a little putoff by it .. although I think it's pretty true .. people are using Jesus as a means to get what they want. Jesus said "xyz!!!" Thou shalt all listen to me!!!

There were some interesting exhibits though .. there was one with a big projection of a US bill (100$ and 20$) and they had a litle figure muving around. Like for the 20$ one they had a dude muving around with a ladder wiping off the windows, and they integrated it in with the dollar bill.. so that it looks like it belongs there.

Sadly we didn't have enough time to finish looking at everything closely .. you know . time is of the essence .. and wandered back to the office by taxi around 4 =(

.. Still. ART IS CREEPY!!! zomg.
