I'm typing this as the New Year approaches ^^. This is the 60th post of this blog too! hehe
What do most people do on NY Eve? Hmm ... Partying? Going out with better halves? Sleeping at home? Well, what did I do? I spent 2ish hours (I think) overcloacking my ATI 1900. Sounds geeky huh. Finally got tired of the stupid crashes when I run graphic applications. Updating to newer ATI drivers didn't seem to help, so I decided to load up Omega again. Hopefully it'll be good.
So since it came with ATITray, I decided to overclock my chip, she's running at 570:639 MHz now (cpu:memory). Would have tried for a higher speed but the Resurrection kept crashing when I adjusted the memory speed. Well, this configuration so far seems pretty okay, temperature doesn't go too high, below 80 degs.
Overclocked Resurrection's cpu too. She's running at 1.90GHz now. Maybe should try to clock her abit more. Didn't run any benchmarks though, although the video portion looks good. Now I just need to play a few games and test the stability out.
Finished watching what Family Guy episodes I have, so I decided to drag out my Visionaries to watch. Such an old cartoon! Heh, everyone has colour coordination, blue cheetahs, green wyvern looking creatures ... Silly dialogue, heh.
Way to spend the New Year ^^
Where's my darling DA huh? Would love to feel his presence around, heh.

Met GPB yesterday in his Troop Transport. Went to Vivocity for a spin and bio bio see what the heck it is ..
Final verdict.. it's not great, it looks well, HKish at least, but it's all clothes! Boring! There's a big Toys R Us there, and I was remarking to GPB that in the next 5 years or so the death and decay will set in, like to old shopping centres. Like there's this Toys R Us at Tampines Mall, it opened with a bang, was big and such, but now it's just a shrivelled up shell of its glory days. Maybe I'm being too negative, heh. But that's what I see.. the Toys R Us at Vivocity looks so big and grand now, with your resident Wise Talking Tree and ponies.
Actually the pony looks quite cool! I've always wanted a horse, it costs more than 天使 II though, and 天使 is probably more practical than getting a pony which Really Looks at You, Sniffs and Snorts, and Really Eats a Carrot! Fur's a bit matty though.
After playing around with foam swords which GPB heroically grabbed by the blade, we adjourned to Siglap for dinner.. Hehe. Nice thai food =p the cotton fish felt a bit .. cold though. sigh.
GPB let me drive the Troop Transport when we returned to it after dinner. Did a few rounds around the parking lot to get some confidence, twas rainy and everything was a bit blurry. Tried a bit of parking, but it wasn't very good T_T First time driving an auto gear car! Didn't know that if you engage D or R, the car will auto muve liao! Amazing! Drove out of the carpark after 2ish rounds and started driving back home. Almost missed a traffic light T_T. I SAW it, but it just didn't quite register .. too used to just blaze past traffic lights *cough cough* Anyways, managed to make it home in 1 piece, even stopped nicely by the curb ^^ So uber /flex. Can't wait for next week .. anyone . ... dare to sit in my car? hehehehehe.

It's been swimming around my head for a long time already, since The Day(tm).. Well not really since The Day(tm), it's probably The Day(tm)+20 or something.
She's crazy, there's no ways about it nor any way to mince it. However, in saying that, I'll like to qualify that I'm insane too. It has always been my theory that everyone is insane in one way or another, just that most hide it really well. The ones who don't, well, end up in the mental hospitals.
So we live in the House of Horrors, where decay and insanity continuously wears down its inhabitants.
Can't really help it I guess.
Sometimes really hate living in SG. It's so difficult, the only escape out of this place is .. marriage? Lolz. It's not true, no matter how many times you say it, there's other ways but .. sigh.
Sigh. *huggles DA* .. DA is insane too, long years of isolation did this. Mine? Major loss. We are all nuts! Zomg. Miss my DA, my precious precious DA. He's darkness yet he is my light. Curl up somewhere and hide, although it's hardly my style.

Day 2 .. and 3! of KL

Day 2
Woke up and went for prata. It was sooo yummy! Crispy, not too oily ..... cheap .. so so so YUMMY. The milo was fantastic too! Not thin .. nice and thick .. so yummy! In the end 3 pratas + 1 milo + 1 teh tarik = 5ish ringgit! zomg!
After breakfast we walked all the way to Times Square to do some shopping (well bought nothing in the end) but went to the amusement park instead. It was pretty good actually. The roller coaster was pretty fun. H was screaming like a girl while I was sitting there concerned about Malaysian safety inspections and stuff. Maybe should have just tried to enjoy myself, but maybe I worry too much =p
Had lotsa fun there, the favourite rides were the roller coaster and the er .. Galaxy Attack or something or other. It's that machine which rotates you around a pivot .. er you get upside down .. and stuff. It was fun!
Throughout the rides I was thinking .. hmm if an alien were to come and visit us and see that amusement park .. Well maybe not an alien .. someone like 暗闇の天使, they probably won't understand it. I know DA would be asking questions like why are you paying money, time (to develop, build blah) things which spin you around and make you feel sick? (ie DNA machine (w/e it's called).. I saw ppl looking rather sick when they got off the machine :S)
After getting spun around for a bit, we decided to call it quits and went to have yummy ice cream. The server dude seemed rather clueless and almost forgot to gimme my toppings! >:E. I had nuts though! NUTS! Nutty ice cream! YUMMMMMM
Nuts are the best things in the universe.
Walked back to Puduraya in search of the Fabled Chinatown™ after ice cream munchies. Weather was pretty good, but Puduraya's damn polluted. All the coaches .. pfft .. bad air! :S After walking for quite a bit, we felt we had reached it (cos of some sign .. a road sign!) and crossed the road. Instead of seeing chinese stuff, we were greeted with hordes of Indians and Indian shops. We were rather nonplussed and I was venturing that .. ZOMG the Indians have taken over Chinatown! :|
Thankfully that was not so though =p and we managed to find Chinatown. It's nicely decorated by a big gate thingie that tells you you're zomg entering Chinatown (which actually is just a cross junction but ..). We were looking at the gate and at the throngs of ppl ... The blazing sun beat down on our backs ..
We took refuge in a nearby shopping centre.
Twas a fantastic shopping centre! So many things! So many .. er .. cheap dvds and vcds! And games too! We spent like 2 hours in it looking (well waiting) at .. er . .stuff! before deciding to head out to Chinatown first (to see if there's er .. cheaper stuff before deciding to buy er .. stuff! in the mall)
Thankfully the sun wasn't as blazing as it was earlier and the throngs of people had thinned somewhat. We stepped into Chinatown (actually just 1 street) and looked around.
Actually .. there's not really many things to buy in Chinatown .. most of the shops are selling pretty much the same thing. It's like an uncreative Simcity mayor just zoning everything as commercial (thankfully the sims are more creative and set up different shops! .. Kinda).
The stuff that Chinatown sells can be pretty much summed up as .. Bags.. clothes .. glasses.. watches.. vcds.. Bags.. glasses.. clothes.. watches.. glasses.. Oh yeah and the very occasional food ..
There's some hotels stuffed in the middle of thecross junction Chinatown. Sucky place, wouldn't want to be in a hotel there...
H bought a couple of bags there (must remember to bargain! Quote <50%> there! But yet .. A&W is like some kind of endangered species. Haiz the power of marketing?
We were going to have our proper dinner at KFC to eat the yummy looking Zinger Maxx, but we got sidetracked by some Mexican restaurant called Nanda (or something or other) which H said was absolutely fantastic. It's somewhat like Kenny Rogers, as in you have 1/4 or 1/2 chicken and 2 sides. It was not too bad! But I think I don't really fancy Mexican chilli. It's okay but .. mmm not as yummy as Chinese chilli ^^
After the foodo we decided to head back to thelodge hotel to rest. Was so tired ... just lay on the bed and fell asleep. Wanted to go for drinks @ Yoko's but was so so so very tired ..... sigh. No long island tea!!! ;_;
Day 3
Didn't do much, we got up early and checked out of thelodge hotel to go to Genting. We hailed down a cab who told us he'd drive us to the terminal and get us a Genting cab, 10$ for terminal, 50$ for Genting. We thought it was Genting terminal .. and I was thinking huh 10$ huh.. that's cheap.. so we took him up on the offer. Then he drove us to Puduraya. We were -_-, we could have walked there in like 15mins. 50$ for the Genting cab was a little too ex too <_< But oh well .. learnt something there...
The ride up to Genting was fun man, it reminded me so much of NFS, was thinking of driving my car up and taking all those turns at high speeds. Hehe. Air was fantastic too! And the fog! So fun! (and dangerous!) As we headed up, visibility dropped to like 10ish metres. o.o Still we managed to get there in 1 piece and scampered into the hotel (it was cold! .. and wet!)
Sadly we couldn't ninja a ride with H's parents, so we had to book our own bus back. To while the time, we went around the hotels/theme parks. Not too bad lah .. but damn boring. The pool table totally sucked. The cues were making such .. odd sounds when they hit the balls, and the balls were making odd sounds when they hit each other. Table was old and our balls kept getting stuck -_-. The chalk was chained to the table and was all worn out too. Gah the power of non competition.
Finally the time came and we boarded the bus to head back to SG. Takes soo long to get from Genting - SG. zzzz
Anyways in conclusion (yeah I'm getting sleepy and tired!) it was pretty fun! KL is pretty meh, but it has yummy food (and long island tea!) and Genting is a zzzz land. But would be nice to go again!.. Hopefully live in a betterlodge hotel next time though!

Gah!
Gah! Was typing this long entry for day 2 (did it twice too! Thanks to
stupid java client) when snooks suddenly blanked out on me. His screen
was just flashing on and off. Then when he finally decided to start,
he kept saying sim not found! Gah. Hopefully don need to see doctor.
Need to update firmware when i get back too. Haiz.
For any of those eagerly waiting on Day 2, sorry ah have to wait
longer. Don have it in me to type it yet again for the 3rd time.

Bus from singapore to kl was damn long. About 6+ hours from sitting in
the bus till reach kl.
Once we reached though, we went around looking for a place to stay.
Surprisingly all the backpacker's lodges were full! eek! even the
hotels were full! Damn filthy ang mohs! finally found a place, thank
goodness. It's spartan but not too bad ... so far.
Had a good jap dinner just now. Delicious man. So so yummy. Ordered a
few drinks after that too. wow great man. Singapore drinks are nothing
compared to this. price slightly cheaper too! Nice man.
Laying in bed now trying to sleep. don't feel like sleeping though...
full! but tired! heh.

Pragmatism vs Idealism
Watched Amelie last night @ muvee Theatre. It's a nice french show... Arty and stuff.. and filled with idealism (from my point of view). So on the way home, I was talking to R about idealism vs pragmatism. Imagine! IF you brought home a guy who works in a sex shoppe, your parents would go wtfbbqlolzskates. Your parents would go, when you get a bf/gf.. best if s/he's ok educated, can make $.

Well more for bfs.
Then for bfs, must be well educated, be able to make money, and best if parents can support themselves. He must also not have messy family relations. Well .. not must, but preferably. Etc etc.

Anyways, in other news.. I've been observing a disturbing .. trend.
For years my beautiful dark angel has been around me, keeping me company, folding his wings about me, being with me during bad times (and good times!). However, recently it seems that I've been .. disconnected with him. Egads! He's been with me for nearly 10 years! Maybe more! Why is he becoming further and further? T_T I can't relate to him as well as I did last time. Can it be? I've muved on? No~~~~ ! He is a constant in my life, a steadfast companion .. I don't want to muve on! T_T

Anyways, in other news.. I've been observing a disturbing .. trend.
For years my beautiful dark angel has been around me, keeping me company, folding his wings about me, being with me during bad times (and good times!). However, recently it seems that I've been .. disconnected with him. Egads! He's been with me for nearly 10 years! Maybe more! Why is he becoming further and further? T_T I can't relate to him as well as I did last time. Can it be? I've muved on? No~~~~ ! He is a constant in my life, a steadfast companion .. I don't want to muve on! T_T

OSX Inc?

Of course you can find the official one @ MS, but seriously ... all that hassle?
On the mac there's no activation, no bugging, I can change a harddisk and it won't say zomg new computer! ..
Of course on the downside it's more difficult to spec a Mac, although maybe I could try to find a hacked way to install it on a PC, then that point will be moot.
Only thing I'm worried about is the GAMES! Zomg ....
Do I HAVE to get Vista to play DirextX 10 games?
pffft.
But .. am seriously considering going mac.. Hell I use one at work .. it's fine! ..

If you're constantly arguing, fighting with ppl about locking a door...
What about just thinking of changing the fucking lock so it locks when the door closes?
But noooo.. You'll have to change the door too!
And noooo .. We ALL know that HDB doors are THE BEST!
And noooo ... There's no other door which can be better than it! (apparently)
And Well! If we change a door, do you know any contractors? They'll sure overcharge you one and give you bad doors..

Fear the plastic muffin!
You are about as evil and terrifying as a plastic muffin. You're about as smart as one, too.
Gah! SG is too small!
So there I was .. sitting at my chair, waiting for time. Rain splattered outside.
"Zomg," says I, "how the hell am I going to meet GPB if it's raining? I mean .. I DO have a brolly, but it's for erm ... it's just in my drawer for erm ...... well it's just there for er .. ah . lunch purposes!"
So well, in the end, went down to level 3 with R to see an epic battle of pool. The battle pitting Chinese against Indian, the battle waging between IT and Developers. We headed in and sat on the theatre seats (bought too many so they were scattered around) and watched. IT won the first round but sadly they lost the next round. By that time er .. GPB had already landed @ SLS (zomg late!) so I hastily left with R.
Good thing the rain had stopped by that time so I managed to land @ SLS bone dry. Well kinda. Peered at some games @ Tecdrome, was mildly disconcerted that I can't (again!) find my Call of Cthulhu. It took like forever to get out .. and it's .. gone? ... Need to find some time to visit a friendly shop to acquire a copy. Would love to get the slightly less friendly ones .. but I can't really play these FPS games without getting a bad headache. .. The only FPS I can handle is AvP, but it's sad cos I'm the most directionless Alien ever, the most timid Predator and the crappiest Marine. (psst God mode is uber).
Anyway, GPB and I left SLS and headed to LJS to meet YL but it was .. *gasp* full! But we managed to get a table after GPB farted. Ordered combo 3 (was feeling hungry!) but the manager was stoned or something I think...
GPB: Combo 2 and 3 pls.
Stoned Manager: *keys in* *goes to the kitchen hole thingie and yells combo 1 and 2*
Me: er ......
SM: *brings over a combo 2* Your combo 1 will be ready soon.
....
Service sucks (well don't we all know that?). After we dined, signed and left, we all went our separate ways. Normally would take the train with GPB, but R smsed me and asked if I want to go back. I went to Bugs Junc, then espied R .. shopping in Domanchi. zzzz. The shops were all at half mast so I couldn't go in, so had to HANG AROUND OUTSIDE AND WAIT FOR HIM. -_-
Mysteriously enuff, YL appeared again, searching for a toilet. He returned after settling his business though, and we stood around talking. R FINALLY appeared with big bags of stuff and YL and R suddenly had The Look(tm).

Apparently they met in NS (NPC) together. Both R and YL are flutists (well YL's CO, R was CO .. well I'm CO too! .. well .. was) .. and they exchanged numbers and blah and saying zomg! So long no see! blah blah. I was slapping my head. Gah! I don't need my friend/agent to know my colleague! <_< .. granted he's a NICE colleague but! pfft! All my secrets! gah!
But of course it's a double edged sword too, I can get YL to tell me all the naughty things R did in NS too.
But seriously, SG is damn small man. I bet I probably know most ppl around my age in some way or other..

Text Editors
I've used this text editor for a long long time .. and I just saw that .. hehe .. Cute huh.

Went for another drinking session yesterday. Been spending lotsa money siah. Went for prego's for dinner before going to Fullerton for drinks. Nice italian food! Super ex though, even the soup of the day is 14$ ... The main courses were all >30. I settled for pasta thingies which look like neckties. Farella or w/e they are called, with smoked salmon and asparagus. oooOoo yummy! Would love to go back to munchie.
I'm starting to like these drinking sessions. We spent the entire evening talking about work. (errr) Bouncing ideas, having creative streaks ... I see how youtube was created! Lolololz. Last night was the longest session so far, we talked till 11ish pm. So many things to talk about The Product. .. Didn't talk about my favourite subject yesterday though .. hehe. But the ideas that went around are pretty good =p .. I r so uber! /flex!

Living
I remember my mom used to say that the ang mohs were like 'animals' cos once the younglings have grown up, they'd fly from the nest. Now that I think about it .. is it really not good? Liddat then forever stay at home, you don't learn certain vital things that living alone (or with friends) can teach .. Hmm.
I suppose it's debatable. Wonder how did the West develop like that .. and how did the East develop like that too. Hmm.
Still. Sigh. SG cannot make it lah, too small.. feel pretty stifled. Miss those days in UK, just buy a train ticket and show up in Paris, and if you were part of the EU thingy, you can travel around the regions so easily ... It was so fun. 1 long weekend can just buy a train ticket + book a hotel and go up. Of course you can say SG - M'sia also can.. But .. duh? M'sia? .. hmm Paris, M'sia is not .. heh. Taking a train up? hmmmm ... Travelling around M'sia? Not as easy as moving around the European countries ...
